June 28, 2016

It appears that the wind is picking up in Queen Charlotte Sound.  Mad Dog is continuing north at over 10 knots.  They’re now more than 13 hours ahead of 2nd place Jungle Kitty, back in Queen Charlotte Strait where the wind is lighter, moving at around 6 knots.

There isn’t a lot of change in those following through Johnstone Strait.  Ain’t Brain Surgery has made it through Seymour Narrows, with Fly, Hot Mess and Golden Oldies not far behind.  Golden Oldies and Hot Mess stopped near Campbell River for a bit, losing ground to Fly.

Angus is headed up the east side of Texada, apparently rowing directly NW up the channel, probably finding a little less strength of headwind than he would farther west.  It will be interesting to see what happens later today when he heads west toward Campbell River.  The winds are forecast to increase this evening.
